Optic Nerves: The good, the bad and the ugly

Presenter: Mike Yapp, Angelica Ly & Jaclyn Chiang

This 2 hour seminar is being held at the Centre for Eye Health in UNSW, Sydney.

Optic nerve pathology can range from the innocuous to the life threatening.

This talk uses case presentations to highlight a systematic process to assist you in the differential diagnosis and optometric management of optic nerve head lesions and pathology.

Webinar: Solving clinical dilemmas with ocular imaging

Presenter: Paula Katalinic

An educational 1 hour webinar will be presented online.

With new eye imaging technologies rapidly changing the way we practice optometry, we can now solve longstanding clinical dilemmas with relative ease. In this webinar, we’ll take a look at a range of clinical cases referred to CFEH which were able to be solved with the aid of eye imaging including optical coherence tomography, Optomap wide-field imaging, Pentacam, B-Scan ultrasound, ultrasound biomicroscopy, and anterior and retinal photography.

Webinar: Glaucoma: Is it getting on your nerves?

Presenter: Anna Delmadoros

A pot pourri of glaucoma cases will be presented over a one hour live lecture.

Glaucoma can be a challenge to detect.  This informative webinar will present a potpourri of interesting cases, interspersed with practical tips and potentially useful information from latest research, which may reduce the incidence of glaucoma getting on our and our patients nerves.

Webinar: Central Retinal changes in pathological Myopia.

Presenter: Michael Yapp

Pathological myopia is becoming increasing prevalent. Peripheral retinal changes are commonly associated with high myopia, however there are a significant number of potentially sight threatening complications associated with central retinal changes in high myopia that are often missed in routine examination.

This one hour live presentation deals with the diagnosis and management of these changes utilising case studies incorporating OCT imaging.

26th February 2013

6:30-7:30pm AEST

Webinar: Nerve-Wracking Cases

Presenter: Jaclyn Chiang

The webinar will cover a series of case studies with a focus on “swollen-looking” optic nerves.

There will be an emphasis on key aspects in identifying, integrating and understanding relevant clinical data and incorporating advanced imaging to facilitate in the differential diagnosis and management.

SCOPE* Glaucoma Suite Masterclass

Glaucoma is a complicated condition requiring many different pieces of information to arrive at the appropriate diagnosis and management plan. This workshop is specifically on utilising and interpreting imaging for the differential diagnosis of glaucoma, including covering what test are needed in a glaucoma workup for a best practise assessment as well as interpreting the imaging results of the OCT, GDx and HRT3.

Michael Yapp, CFEH Principal Optometrist, will deliver the masterclass for a small group of between 10 to 15 referring optometrists through a combination of hands-on case discussions and presentation format, with plenty of time for questions and discussion. 6 CPD points have been applied for.
